We are asking for ideas from community members, nearby residents, visitors, sporting and cultural organisations, and other interested stakeholders to help shape the precinct.

These ideas will help shape preliminary concept development, which will then be available for further community and stakeholder input.

The precinct will create a vibrant, multi-purpose destination enhancing Burswood Park’s existing activities, delivering new amenity and improved accessibility for visitors and nearby residents, and strengthening connections between Optus Stadium, Perth city and surrounds.

It will elevate Western Australia’s standing as a premier place for sport and entertainment, featuring:

  • A new outdoor amphitheatre for live music and other events, with 15,000-20,000 capacity, complementing Burswood Park, Optus Stadium and Crown Perth.
  • A multi-use track, including for use by FIA-approved Supercars, cycling criterium and community sport.
  • A multi-use building, including event and function facilities and meeting spaces.
  • Better transport and connectivity with Optus Stadium and the wider precinct, particularly for people with a disability.
  • Enhancement of the local environment through landscape improvements (such as an urban forest) and renewal.

Precinct design will incorporate Burswood Park’s 20 Year Vision, respond to relevant state planning policies and uphold and improve the Park’s garden amenity. The precinct footprint does not extend to the Swan River.
